Job Description

Serving Beverages: Interacts with customers to serve needed beverages. This includes positive customer service as well as serving within the guidelines of the alcoholic beverages laws of the state of Indiana and the alcohol policy of the University of Notre Dame. In this position, one must monitor over consumption by customers and not serve the customers when problems arise.

Set up & maintenance of bars: This includes the preparation of bar areas for service including all necessary inventory control reports. Necessary weights and counts must be accurately recorded. Arrangement of bar set up includes glassware, mixers, and alcoholic beverages, which must be maintained in a neat and sanitary manner throughout.

Handling of Cash: Handles cash exchanges for bar service on certain bars. This position may also be required to handle other forms of payment including credit cards. This also includes adding total of needs, making change, and closing procedures.

Prepare & Serve Wine for Meals: Open wine as necessary. Pour wine at table as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required. Must be over the age of 21 to serve alcohol and possess (or have the ability to obtain) Bartender’s license. Perform duties and interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner, maintaining AAA Four Diamond service standards.
