Job Description

The Graduate School at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for the position of Recruitment Strategies Program Director. This is a limited duration position, ending June 30, 2020. The position will be evaluated for continuation prior to that date.

The Program Director supports the colleges’, academic programs’, and Graduate Schools’ recruitment efforts, with a focus on recruitment and yield of top caliber students. The primary focus of the role is assisting the academic programs in identifying and recruiting top talent. This includes developing expertise with the CRM and application system, and sharing that expertise with the users in the departments. The individual will also be responsible for developing sources and processes to identify top prospects, and connect them with academic programs and faculty members according to their interests. The Program Director will coordinate recruitment activities on and off campus on behalf of the colleges, programs, and Graduate School, and will also present some sessions, both on campus, and at graduate fairs. The individual will assist the academic programs in developing, implementing, and updating targeted recruitment strategies, as well as developing and disseminating reports for the assessment of those strategies and their effectiveness. Success in the role will be demonstrated through increased numbers of applications from top prospects, and increased yield of those applicants.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:

  • Develop expertise in the CRM and application system to help programs track students through the recruitment and application stages, assist prospective students with the application and confirmation process, assist the admissions team with CRM related tasks, and provide training and assistance to the departments and faculty.
  • Identify, contact, and connect prospective students and other specified populations with academic programs and faculty, and provide information on university services.
  • Assist with the creation, implementation, and periodic updates of an outreach/recruitment plan.
  • Generate reports for assessment of various recruitment efforts and their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities (on and off campus) with colleges and academic programs, and work with programs to help them meet their enrollment targets. Design and deliver presentations to prospective students at graduate school fairs.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Must have the ability to develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives, including the collection and assessment of data to support planning and evaluate impacts. Written and verbal communication skills must be strong. Technical aptitude to work with an online application and CRM tool is essential. Must be able to effectively work with a diverse group of prospects, applicants, students, faculty, and staff.

Must be able to represent the Graduate School at off site recruitment events, including preparing materials for shipment to those events.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in higher ed, particularly at a graduate level research institution is preferred.

An advanced degree is preferred.
