Job Title Preaward Program Manager (Multiple Positions)
Job Description

Are you interested in being part of cutting-edge research that can change the world? Do you desire a solid environment upon which you can advance or build a career in research administration?

The mission of Notre Dame Research is to grow, strengthen, promote and safeguard the research enterprise at Notre Dame. Notre Dame is strategically and significantly investing in its research enterprise, and experiencing an equally significant return on that investment in growth in research dollars.

Notre Dame Research Administration is an integral part of the mission held by Notre Dame Research. Along with the entire University, we are here to heal, unify and enlighten a world deeply in need. If you are an individual who finds meaning in the business of research, and joy in meeting the needs expressed by our faculty customers, we want you to join our team.

We are currently recruiting energetic, career motivated individuals for multiple preaward program manager positions who will work with Notre Dame Faculty to develop, review, approve, and submit budgets and research grant proposals to government and non-government research sponsors to fund University research and/or training. You will advise faculty in grant proposal development and sponsor and University requirements. You will be the interface between Notre Dame Faculty and administration and all external research funding sources. This position is assigned to a portfolio of investigators and provides a primary point of contact for the faculty and administration in the College/units. Current total University proposal activity exceeds 1,100 proposals for over $550M annually.

This is a perfect position for someone who is career driven, comfortable being empowered to work independently, self-motivated, deadline driven, seeks out challenges and wishes to be an integral part in facilitating a growing research enterprise that can change the world for the better. Candidates who enjoy interacting with others, thrive in teams and are not intimidated by a high volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

All candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years’ experience in research administration (either professionally or academically). You have a passion for helping others, are a team player, a good communicator, and are very deadline driven and detailed oriented.

Self-motivation, organizational and prioritization skills are your strong points and you remain focused even with deadlines looming.

You feel confident and engaged when working in electronic systems and spreadsheets and enjoy developing budgets.

If these requirements resonate with you, we hope you consider joining the Notre Dame Research Administration team.

Preferred Qualifications

A Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Preaward Research Administrator (CRPA) certification is preferred but not required.
