Job Description

Security Monitors that work at the campus entrances provide vigilant monitoring for safety while welcoming guests, faculty, staff, and students using exceptional customer service to screen for authorized vehicular traffic attempting to enter the main campus through the gate. Assist visitors and university guests by providing directions and information with a high degree of customer service. Remain up-to date on functions and activities occurring on campus in order to answer questions from guests, faculty, staff, and students.

Security Monitors that work in the Snite, Basilica, and Main Building observe, protect, patrol and enforce rules/regulations that insure the safety of items/facilities in their care. They report unusual circumstances. They control access and observe ingress/egress from the building in which they serve. They assist visitors/patron/staff and ensure rule enforcement. Monitors lock and or unlock, secure or provide physical security to those buildings in which they serve. They check doors, windows, and locks. They respond to emergency situations by following established guidelines. They activate or deactivate alarm systems. Monitors provide information to those visiting the university, parents and family of students or members of the community of Notre Dame. Monitors answer phones, do paperwork and desk type duties. They use the security radio as needed. They fill out logs/reports. They attend training as scheduled. They control keys as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic computer knowledge and skills are required. Work schedule includes various hours throughout the day. Availability to work early and late hours along with holidays is required. Must be available on football home game Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong customer service background is preferred.
