Job Title Manager Food and Beverage - the Morris Inn
Job Description

The Manager Food and Beverage will plan, organize, control, evaluate and manage the daily operations of the breakfast, lunch, dinner and in room dining service on premises of the Morris Inn. The position will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining guidelines, policies and systems consistent with a Four Diamond level of service in all food and beverage operations. The position will also work in conjunction with Sales, Events, and the Executive Chef to ensure that all guest dining expectations are anticipated and exceeded. The Manager Food and Beverage will also
supervise restaurants and in room dining service in a manner designed to meet Morris Inn standards and exceed guest expectations, while assuring the highest standard of appearance and cleanliness of the dining rooms. This position will also support service staff and provides feedback, coaching , and accountability for performance. The Manager Food and Beverage will inspect restaurant staff to ensure appearance and grooming standards are being met at all times and ensure correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment and fixtures in dining room areas. This position will report maintenance deficiencies and concerns. This position will schedule personnel based on changing needs of a la carte services and forecast staffing levels to allow appropriate recruitment process and filling of vacant positions. This position will assume responsibility of Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
The Manager Food and Beverage will serve both Guests and fellow employees following Four Diamond service expectations and follow work direction and perform tasks efficiently, accurately, and on a timely basis.

This position will preserve the confidentiality and security of Guest information and belongings as well as

work as part of a team or alone with limited direct supervision. This position will be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and communicate effectively and engage in friendly, polite conversation. This position will need to exercise good judgment and solve problems, maintain emotional control and persevere in stressful situations, maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance to standards.

This position is primarily for the night closing shift.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of food, wine and service. Overall Food and Beverage knowledge including but not limited to production technique, wines and liquors. Superior training, computer, communication and interpersonal skills required
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Liquor Permit
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3-4 years of experience
